Krabi March 2011

I started off 2011 with a short trip down to Krabi, Southern Thailand.
I had high expectations of Krabi. I expected blue waters, white sandy beaches, tropical paradise.

Tropical paradise, Yes.
Azure waters with white sandy beaches. Not so much.
Maybe not in Ao Nang.

So i spent 3D2N in Ao Nang, Krabi n stayed in KL House Aonang.
Great budget accommodation. Highly recommended because of the friendly English speaking staffs, comfortable stay, clean rooms, good location, cheap breakfast, n offering a very affordable price.

A standard room goes at 900baht per nite. Sleeps two. Air Con. Hot shower. TV. Comfy bed. Quiet.
Can try emailing for special price n u could get away with 800baht/nite. :)

Took up a 4 island tour for 750baht/pax.
Songthaew pickup from guesthouse at 0830 am n leave for Island hopping adventure at NopparatThara beach boat area at 0900 am. Went to Tup Island, Chicken Island, Poda Island, Phranang Cave on Railay Beach.
Package includes a 'survivor' style lunch on the beach. (Mine was at one the isolated beach on Chicken island, VERY beautiful, soft white sand, very clear blue/azure water, IM A HAPPY GIRL!)
Lunch consisted of a bucket of white rice, sweet & sour fish, stir fried mixed vegetables, chicken drumlets, sunny side up eggs, slices of watermelons or pineapples, bottles of Coke or mineral water. They laid all the dishes out on a mat, n u take a plate n cutleries n u scoop some on ur plate. Very 'Survivor, Chicken Island'. Haha. I liked that lunch concept. Gives me a feel that im really on a tropical island.

Snorkelling was fun, i dunno how to swim for nuts, but tried it anyway. Snorkelling gear n life vest are provided.
There was no shopping for knicknacks or snacks whatsoever on all these 4 islands. Unlike the PhiPhi tour.

I reached the guesthouse at 4pm, n i was black/red in colour. So freakin' tanned, n red bcuz of the sunburn.

At night, we walked ard Ao Nang area for a good chillout place over drinks n finally settled at Coconut Bar.
BIG MISTAKE.
The junkies/Rastaman-fail guys who hangs out infront of that establishment who also works/runs that place CLEARLY favours the White tourists more (they just brush me off n ask me sit at another table with uncomfy seats n no clear view of the live band just because there's a couple of white tourists approaching the establishment looking for seats/table, Bloody Idiot)

I even saw one of them push/sell drugs to one White Male tourist who walked pass by, n signalled for some 'stuff'. Felt unsafe, n left for Eagle Bar just two doors down. Firedance show or not (Big signboard raving about their nightly fire show outside the establishment), I am well aware when I'm not wanted. *sniff

I had more fun chilling n enjoying my Singhas at Eagle Bar. And the singer there was much more welcoming n made small talks in between songs with the patrons. Totally unpretentious.

All in all, Krabi was beautiful (albeit, BORING,), i enjoyed it n the real locals there are so warm n friendly.
But i guess I've left my heart in Bali......

Bali Again

Its been awhile isnt it?

So im going to Bali again this 24-29 Oct 2010 with Elfira and will be staying at Taman Sari Cottages along Poppies lane 2.
I initially wanted to stay in Gora Inn but Fira's not into it. Cuz Gora has super basic rooms n she's not feeling it.
Its alright with me, cuz ultimately, what matters is that we'll be having fun outdoors and not in the hotel, so im alright.

But i LOVE Gora! The whole compound just has a real good vibe! Its good for networking n making new friends with other travellers alike, talking crap, sharing travelling stories over mushies or some Bintangs.. I dont mind that the rooms has no air con, or that the toilet n rooms are really sparse. Or that the only way for u to clean up after urself after u piss or shit is by standing under the built in shower head. Haha! I just LOVE Gora and it's whole positive vibe! :)

Since its Fira's birthday on the day we arrive, im intending to bring her over to Rock Bar in Jimbaran. Catch the sunset, over a few mojitos maybe, just something upscale, for her birthday. :) And maybe even visit Gitgit Waterfalls on the 2nd day, basically to do something, visit someplace that we've never been to in Bali. Kuta can be a bore if u're there everyday, doing nothing but shop shop shop. I dont really fancy shopping in Kuta cuz everything is freakin expensive there. the place is like the epicentre of tourists, they can afford to jag up the price. :(

Wish me luck for this trip cuz it's gonna be just the two of us girls, taking Bali by storm. Haha. (Even though its gonna be my 4th time visiting Bali now, i feel that with everytime i visit the place, im always learning n discovering new things/places there!)

I have yet to blog abt my 2nd Bali experience last March
So here goes,

We took a night flight out to Bali (DPS) with AirAsia and reached DPS at night abt 11:30pm
But still, finding a cab out to Kuta (or whatever your destination in Bali might be, ur hotel location) is not hard.
after leaving the airport, turn right n you'll see booths of taxi operators. Name ur destination, and the taxi operators will name a price, negotiate if u want to n try other operators ard the same area if u dont like the price they offer. (Kuta should be abt 50,000, n Legian area abit more n the price increases with the distance)

had a dream last night that I can be a girl who's madly in love with a guy, stop second guessing my man, accept a marriage proposal, get engaged, get married two years later n have a baby boy 1 yr afterwards, and focus my life to becoming the perfect, loyal, dedicated wife to my husband, stop partying, stop drinking, stop smoking, start praying, get along well with his friends n vice versa. Life is just beautiful, filled with laughters n pitter patters of my child running ard the house... Oh snap, that was just a dream. I wish you guys, can see the inside of me. How im really different, from what you were made to believe that i am. I know i shouldnt be bothered abt haters hatin' on me. But thats just how i am, i cant live n make do with the fact that there ARE ppl out there who hates me for no logical reasons. Underneath this facade, lays a cornucopia of troubled, hurt, saddening feelings. I pray that one day, God will show you guys, that you got me all wrong all these while. N i wish u guys nothing but the best of wishes n may our paths cross again one day in a better light. God give me strength!

going to work is sucha drag. its not the patients, its not really the colleagues. but its the management. FTW!

On a lighter note, im going Bali again dis March! 2010, pls come sooooonest!
Planning to depart frm here on 26th Mar with Elfira n Sulaizah, after morning shift... Haha. Is that crazy or what? But it has been done, by my other peers. haha. Tunggal n Nizar has done it, Peggy n Kimberly has done it. So i think its do-able. haha.
We'll be there tilll the 31st in which Elfira n Sulaizah would be flying back home, BUT i'll be staying put... (YEAY) Bcuz the initial plan was to go Bali with Sham n his friends on the 2nd April. So, im gonna stay there, ALONE, till the Boys arrive on the 2nd. I have like, 2 days to myself! 2 WHOLE DAYS to rediscover Bali n get tanned n dark like nobody's business. haha.

Coincidentally, i heard that Zul Aziz n Anna Irwan would be ard too abt that time, and so, i could prolly meet up with them for a bit or just plain hanging out with the locals. hahahaha.. im so stoked on looking forward to this very long, much awaited, much deserved vacation!

i missed takbir raya cuz i woke up late. i woke up at abt 10 am. dammn! the most essential part of 1st day of Raya is the takbir n to mandi sunat raya. Its ok. i guess i'll just watch in youtube then.

anyway, i was watching Rosyam Nor's Aidilfitri drama, FITRAH DI UFUK RAMADHAN juz now. It was so heart wrenching la... Sighs. I love hari raya dramas, its so full of meaning n moral values. its a good wakeup call for us who idle along, most times enjoying life to the fullest that we tend to forget the most important things n people in our life. Family n God.

We've embraced ramadhan, now lets celebrate Lebaran without forgetting those who's lesser fortunate than us...

this year's Aidilfitri is so cockedup i feel like banging my head against the wall.

first.
i cant get to break fast with Sham n friends like i do every year, this year bcus im working PM shift that day. n i ran out of requests for the month already so i cant change my roster.

second.
im working night shift on the weekend that Sham n friends may decide to go for Raya outing. -> 4/9/09.

third.
my family cant decide when to balik kampong like we usually do every Aidilfitri. My parents is depending on my sister because her husband can drive n has a car. But my sister didnt initiate anything to tell us when they are free to balik kampong. i hate this. i realy wish i could drive!! so that my parents dont have to depend on my sister n her husband to go anywhr. im not saying that my sister n her husband will sulk or refuse to drive them ard anywhere, but the one who can drive is the son-in-law. not my parents' own daughter (my sister) so its abit weird n too much if my parents were to keep on asking for a ride anywhere. n it doesnt help that my bro-in-law is the quiet n reserved type who dont like to talk much n only talk when necessary. so we wont know if he is sincere or he is reluctant. sigh sigh sigh. i hate the fact that i cant drive! yet. im learning now. but slowly.... like a turtle. its either i hv no time, too busy or when i have time, i hv no money to go for driving lessons.

hopefully, the next ramadhan n aidilfitri, my family is still complete n healthy, n I WILL BE THE ONE driving my parents back to their kampong, in MY VERY OWN CAR. InsyaAllah. Amin.

working has been menacingly tough these days. my ward was close for abt 2-3 wks since swine flu started. they're gonna turn the ward from a GS ward to an ID (infectious disease) ward. sad rite?! anyways, now, the ward is slowly functioning, taking a step at a time.. so where do all the nurses go to when patients quota is low? DEPLOY DEPLOY! and i got deployed to MICU. yea. u read that rite. MICU. me, in MICU. what a bad combination. i cannot function in a setting like that. omg, im such a newbie! how can they throw me to a 'big, deep, open sea' like that? but it's alright.. im learning. learning everyday to adapt. maybe this will help me become a better nurse when i go back to GS ward later.. Im just hoping that this deployment episode will end really soooooonnnnn... cuz i seriously miss working with my friends. No matter how crappy my ward is, nothing beats working in your OWN ward where u belong. there is atleast a sense of belonging n comfort.

Anyways, last Tuesday, Sham n me rode up to Kulai to taste the famous nasi lemak. We left home(my place) at abt 1730hrs n reach Gelang Patah at abt 1830hrs. and then.......... IT RAINED. CATS DOGS, DUCKS AND CHICKENS! Rain was too heavy, vehicles have to drive with hazard lights on! its maddening, the weather, i tell you! but it was well worth it when we reached the place. Nothing beats comfort food like a plate of nasi lemak n a glass of teh-o in the cold weather...
Had lotsa fun on my virginal riding trip! Thanks baby! Next time, KL? or maybe even more? hehehe.

and so i went out after AM shift today. Bought myself TWO pairs of bikinis! i dunno. i guess i was just pissed bcuz i didnt get a proper tan last saturday because i realized,15 mins before leaving the house, that i lost/left my bikini in BALI. so as a treat to myself, i bought 2. one polka dotted. one tri colour striped. im happy. now. full of glee~ planning to sunbathe again this saturday with Shammy
it was totally random n unplanned. i hinted catching the sunset after our late lunch at Bugis. I suggested Mt Faber or Fort canning.(?) (wth?). But as he was riding, i tapped his shoulder n told him that i changed my mind, i wanna go ECP. Its been too long since i've been there in broad daylight actually. We rented bicycles n rode around discovering cool spots and potential chill out places for both of us in the future. im totally enjoying the experience as we've never done this together before. we rode side by side, along the blue crystal beach with the orange sun setting down on us, giggling. jakon. smoking... i just need a bandanna to cover my mouth n i'd totally look like a female version of those gangsta chicanos. hee.

Shammy really made me a very happy girl today.

Its quarter past 3 am now. I gotta go catch some sleep. Im PM shift tmr. If ur reading this Sham, thanks for making my day.. *smiles.

i've now overcome my feelings of dread n hatred, abt knowing the many stories n gossips created by the gossip folks at work. im just taking it in stride knowing that these things are common, and is bound to happen to anyone at some point of their career. its just sad that my perspective of certain ppl has changed now. oh wells, there's always karma. their time will come when they will be in my position. sometimes i wish i didnt know what i knew.. not all things are beyond our control. i love me, i love my life, and i love the way i am living it. but there's always room for improvement somewhere, somehow. im always open to the possibilities on improving myself.

i've learnt one thing though. to not let my job rule my daily living as it has always been. my full time occupation is: my LIFE. i thank my parents for giving me that, and so, i wanna live it the best way possible. Family comes first no matter what. and Sham, if ur reading this, u are, a part of my family...

PS:maybe there might be some truth to it.. i can relate to what that somebody had said abt u. cuz at times i experience it myself, from u.

Greetings fellow earthlings!

BALI. IS PARADISE.

And so here i am. back from my trip to bali. its been 2 weeks now since i left for bali and i've hungered for more since. Bali is just a very peaceful place with friendly local ppl. I love it there. I wanna marry someone there n stay there for good. haha. but then i'll be living a difficult life la! lols. anyways, im planning to visit Bali again in July, making a stop in Sarawak first, den to Lombok and den Bali. How exciting! Im doing all these with minimal wage!

Speaking of which, im seriously underpaid its not even funny.

Thanks for all the birthday wishes friends. Ive had a superb 21st birthday there. I got high, i was pissed out drunk, i was suprised with, i was celebrated, i was appreciated, i was remembered. *smiles. Sham was too sweet, he couldnt find a cake to surprise me with, so he presented me with a trayful of ice creams with 2 big candles n 1 small candle. I was soooooooooo... suprised seriously as i wasnt expecting anything of the sorts. Being in Bali itself is a gift on its own. A gift from myself, to myself. To be able to reach Paradise... Sham was and always be the sweetest boyfriend i sometimes wonder why i take him for granted at times. *smiles. I love you baby.

I met with an accident too, while i was there. see pictures of the wound. God im still nursing the wound and the pain and the bruise. Its funny how the bruise is mapped out like the shape of the island of Bali. hehe. or is it just me? Anyhows, i hit a stationary pick up truck. Thank God, syukur alhamdulillah, nobody was seriously hurt. Nadiah was my pillion. Imagine how freaked out i was during the accident. What if she was hurt? What is the bike is rammed beyond recognition? I have to pay the damages to the bike rental place! So yeah....... I was cushioning the impact of my bike (Nouvo ok? Auto ok? Still can accident. CCB.) hitting the pickup truck with my thigh. That explains the position of my wound. It was just funny that we had been riding from 10 am and everything was smooth sailing and we had the accident at 5.30pm when we wanted to return the bike, shortly before the rental expires at 6pm. Sighs. Just my luck. I just hope it doesnt leave a permanent ugly black mark on my skin.

Post-bali, everything is mundane to me here in SIN city. Heh. Everything is, when u've been to Paradise. aaaaaaaahhh... Paradise..

P.S: sometimes, its just better not knowing the truth than knowing at all.
So what if you people dont like certain things abt me. In the end, u are still the ones who's gonna be stuck with me for the whole shift. U ppl are no better urself. U ppl were just like me when u just started work. Uncomfortable. Unadjusted. Bambi lost in the woods. Blur. Scared. Kan-cheong. Remember that everything that is old, was once new/young. Ur just sore that u see urself in me. And maybe it gives you the high feeling of bitching abt me. Balls to you ppl. NURSING IS POLITICS. and im TIRED of it.

yea im disappointed that my girl Nadia wouldnt be able to join me on the Bali trip.
Its saddening to not have another galpal with me to the land of paradise. Boys will be boys, they wont get it when i go gaga over sceneries, cute little ornaments, etc.. Dats why i need to have u over for this trip Nad! Its my FRIGGIN birthday!

ANYWAYS,
I was late for close to 1.5hrs to work today. Had to pay $26.85 worth of cab fare. Got chided n received snide remarks from colleagues n sisters. like, wth. Like im doing it on purpose??
tsk. i thought that it was my Day off when in fact i was suppose to be working morning. My day off is tomoro (which is today! yahoo?).

Im telling u, one of these days, i wish i could just die a sudden death. a death so quick that i wont feel any pain. Im sick of all the drama this life has planned out for me. Family, work, friendships, relationships, money issues. Its driving me up to the wall!!

And i mean what i said. I wish i would die in the very near future. And no, im not suicidal thank you. Im just at my wits end. God. Do ur thing. Help me.

Hey all.

Im so tired. Body is seriously screaming "I NEED TO RESTTTTTT!!!!!!"
Today is 3rd nite out of my 4 nite shifts. Chaos here n there at work. Usual. *shrugs

To keep my mind off the -ve things at work, i focused my mind to keep on thinking abt the much awaited Bali trip. My mind is chanting "Bali bali bali bali" like a mantra whenever something/someone pisses me off. Come end of february, i'll be flying to Bali to celebrate my birthday! Yeayness!!!

I couldnt think of anything else to beat my crazy 20th/4th Leap year birthday celebration i had last year, that i told Sham that maybe for my 21st bday, i should be overseas. We talked n discussed and the rest is history. Flights are booked, accomodations is being researched n compared online, my bags are half packed and my body is geared up to go!

For some of u who might not know, my birthday is on the 29th Feb. Leap year. But 2009 has no 29 feb. So im celebrating on the 28th feb. My 20th/4th leap year birthday celebration was total madness last year, i invited hoardes of ppl to the hotel suite at some hotel in Orchard (I forgot the name) n those ppl brought along lotsa ppl, and we dranked, cranked up the music, decorated the room with balloons, confettis and whatnots, had a live Drag Show, drinking games etc. Was fun, pictures can be found on my facebook/friendster.

So im flying on 27 feb by LionAir and coming back on 4th Mar. With Nadia Habib, Sham, Amin.
Looking forward to the trip. BALLIN' BALI BABY!!!!!!

Last 21 Jan was my 2nd year anniversary with Sham. Very Kirah's Believe it Or Not material~!
2 years has passed and nothing much has changed. he's still the same sweet and selfless being that he was two yrs back. no words could express the much Gratitude and Love i feel for this man. I love you Hisam, to many more anniversaries ahead.

Hey, and so i made a yet new account. Just for fucks actually, no important reasons. haha.
I suddenly remembered how often i used to blog on my old account that i decided to read it all back. all 105 entries.. how colourful and full of 'moments of folly' my life was. sighs.
Dear friends, do visit my old, VINTAGE blog. from as early as 2004-2005. i was a very expressive girl eh, thinking back.

First up, i would like to congratulate Fid for moving into her new place, getting further away from me.. Still in jurong west, but not within walking distance anymore! Cannot lepak anymore.. (not that we do much of it anyway, BUT I LIKE TO KEEP MY OPTIONS OPEN HORX!!) *chuckles.

Congratulations also to my buddy from sec sch Shahirah on her blissfull marriage. I wish u nothing but all the happyness n rainbows in the world darling!

Congratulations too, to my fellow ITE nursing comrades who have pursued a diploma in nursing. Girls, be a good RN~! how do i feel abt it? I have no intentions whatsoevers to further my studies in diploma in nursing and become an RN. And even when i do wanna have a diploma, let me major in something that i truly like and am interested in. Having said that, i wouldnt wanna grow old in 58 either. Lets just see...............Hmmmmmmmmmmmmm.......

Okay i'll try to summarize my experiences n escapades i had during my hiatus from blogging in 1 post.

1. I finally travelled abroad with my friends, and only friends, though its only KL, last july.2.
2. ZoukOut was MAGNIFIQUE!!!!
3. Siloso beach resort roof garden terrace is like my home away from home. all the major parties are being held there between my friends.
4. Celebrated new year's eve 12 mn on the roads of ECP just right opposite the flyer and marina and the whole skyscrapers landscape with fireworks in the background. N then we went on to CHIJMES to celebrate!
5. Decided to go BALI!!!!! to celebrate my 21st Bday with Sham & Amin.
6. Friendship status between Me & Sheda is still the same since last blogged. still rocky.

And so...
I couldnt sleep last nite even though im on am shift today. becoming nocturnal. because of the bout of frequent night duties im enduring at work. so at abt 0400hrs i was bored. and sorta hungry. i felt the urge to whip up a storm in the kitchen and do something. Why not make an early breakfast for my parents since my dad is going to work at 0600hrs anyway. thank god there's a 24hrs SHOP & SAVE store nearby. I went grocery shopping at 0430hrs, and cooked fried rice, fried fish fillets, whipped up a delish egg & mayo with bread. and ended everything at 0600hrs. I tot i wanna surprised dad & mom by waking them up for solat subuh earlier, but parents were awake even before i get to finish my meal preparation. it was a heartwarming feeling preparing a meal for my parents. bcus its usually me who's at the receiving end of things. but knowing that they appreciated my hardwork made it all worthwhile, especially when my dad even packed some fried rice for work on top of his usual bekal. I LOVE YOU ABAH, MAMA.
